Some Quick Simple tips from one alien journalist to another.

Tips & Tricks

  • Make sure you position you picture as much center as you can.

  • If you have dead bodies, or body parts. Move them to where you are gonna try to get your next photo. Later Levels it can get hard to make you quota.

  • Be mindful indoors, especially if you are playing solo. The String Trap alien is not fun, Little red string hanging from ceilings I do not believe if you are solo you can escape from it's grasp. You can get your teammates out of the trap by going up to them in the trap and press [E: by default]. Aliens can also be snagged in these traps.

  • Landmines, can be triggered by you, aliens, and things being thrown at them. "watch your step" ;)

  • Watched a player get stuck in the floor due to getting rag-dolled by a monster. Find a hand, leg, head, or a body. Throw it at them, it will rag-doll them and they may be able to exfil with their fellow journalists. "Dropping their stuff falls through the map"

  • Speaking of body parts, try out the cannon of an arm we all have... You can throw the limbs at the aliens to stop them in their tracks, and rag-doll them. But, if you do it to a Parasite "The rock-throwers" when they are still in the animation while throwing. They will still throw it while rag-dolling.

  • Sewers can be used to kill aliens, survivors, yourself, and fellow journalists. Sewer monsters are worth a good amount of points themselves. It takes 2 Sewer Monsters to kill the "rock-thrower".

  • Manage your inventory wisely. If you are running with friends, Eventually a backpack will help cut back on loss of equipment if you can manage to grab most of your gear. Cameras should be the first priority grabbed, due to needing the points to progress you game.

Sewer Monster

  1. Wait for 2 Minutes to pass by.
  2. Lead a alien to a Sewer monster Man hole cover.
  3. Position a Manhole cover (sewer monster) between you and the chasing alien.
  4. (if solo - Emote then pull out the camera and enter selfie mode and take a Emoting selfie with the monster being taken care of by the sewer monster)
  5. If playing with friends or other community members have a yourself or one of them lead a monster to the manhole and emote while you wait safely for a picture opportunity.

Note: You may also throw dead torsos onto the manhole covers to trigger the Sewer Beast.

The Headliners Sewer Monster

You should end up with a picture like this or a better picture than this. The highest I believe my buddy has achieved with the sewer beast method is 1600+ points. Pro Camera, Darwin Award, and more than one alien, and limbs from other dead aliens, journalist body parts, and soldier body parts. Since each limb adds a increasing value.
